April’s Diamonds are one of Mother Nature’s rarest and strongest creations, so have come to symbolise everlasting love. Formed under intense volcanic pressure and heat, they’re more than 3 billion years old. While the tradition of diamond engagement rings dates back all the way to Ancient Egypt, it was Archduke Maximilian of Austria who truly established them as a modern symbol of love and commitment when he proposed to Mary of Burgundy. Today, like Marilyn Monroe’s famous song, these legendary gems remain a girl’s best friend, and a firm statement of beauty, success and wealth. For me though, I just love how they refract the light, scattering tiny rainbows from my hand! That's why I included the pretty rainbow gradients in the design. Each little shape is drawn and coloured by hand in vector format so it's infinitely scaleable.
See my Gemstone Collection for more dazzling jewels. This collection is hand drawn with Apple Pencil in vector format which means it's infinitely scaleable. I can print it in any size from postcard to billboard, and on fine art paper, canvas or glossy acrylic. The art can be the original gem, or a seamless pattern on prints, fabrics and wallpapers. Just ask and I'll find the best for your requirements!
