I never watched scary movies until I was in my thirties, but determined to become braver in life as well as in my viewing habits I began expanding my cinematic experienced with hubby Jon's hand in mine. Quite tightly I might add! American Psycho was one of the first horror films I ever saw. Patrick Bateman is a fictional character created by novelist Bret Easton Ellis. He is the protagonist and unreliable narrator of Ellis's 1991 novel American Psycho and is played by Christian Bale in the 2000 film adaptation of the same name. Obsessed with status and power he is competitive in all the worst ways, and also deeply insecure despite his lack of self awareness. His insecurities are borne out in his embrace of capitalist ideals, none of which quite hit the mark, including having the best business card. This pattern is my fun little tribute to an excellent film!
